As women on the move, focused on careers and family we all want to do everything with a sense of style. We each have a tendency to splurge every now and then on big ticket items for our wardrobe. However, in the new year I believe it’s so important for us to first focus on financial freedom and frugality. Often we believe that this also means cutting corners on the items we want and feel necessary for our wardrobe. Well, I’m here to tell you , NOT SO! There are so many opportunities to build the wardrobe you want long term or on a temporary status.

Websites like Shop Style and Gilt Group allow you to pick up well known labels at an extremely reduced price point. Brands from Christian Louboutin to Diane von Furstenberg are located on these sites at prices that will not break our pocket books. Shop Style will allow you to choose the color, brand, style of garment or accessory you are looking for and will point you to the website that currently has this item on sale. Gilt Group is a members only site that updates you daily on sales from your favorite brands.

There are also sites such as Rent the Runway, which allow women with a variety of budgets access to runway looks at close to 90% off retail prices. The way this works is very simple:

1. Choose and submit the dates for which you will need the specific garment
2. Choose your size and a backup size(for free)
3. Return your garment back to Rent The Runway (for free)

With options like these it is very realistic for young women who are building their wealth and financial legacy to also build a wardrobe that suits their style and budget.
