Ajshay N James, CPA, MBA, MSBA, has established herself as an accountant, entrepreneur, speaker and philanthropist. She is the president, She-EO and Chief PearlTivatorTM of The Pearl Group Consulting,[TPGC] a parent company that includes My Tax Chick and  FINsight  accounting and consulting firms. TPGC is a woman-owned, minority operated business that specializes in taxation, business, development, strategy and implementation.  Ajshay is also  founder and SHE-EO of Daily Peal$, a women’s finance web site that delivers money pearls of wisdom to  inboxes daily am is Co-Founder and CEO of The Lady Legacy Foundation, a not-for profit dedicated to promoting financial literacy, personal and professional development for young women in the Greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Three people filed bankruptcy after college that Ajshay knew; that changed her life and made her ask, “what about those infamous pearls of wisdom, am I minding my pearls?”

Ajshay helps business owners and individuals mind their pearls by following her six core pearls of wisdom also known as the six p’s: Plan. Prepare. Practice. Perfect. Protect. Prevail.  With a track record of success, Ajshay helps them develop and implement strategy from concept to execution.
A born She-EO, launching her first business, a snow cone shop at age eight, with the help of her grandmother.  Her passion, hunger, drive and willingness to succeed has only grown over time. Ajshay believes in being fashionably philanthropic TM. This love of service began as a youth when she was a Girl Scout, never left her and only further propelled her to join S.I.F.E. (Students in Free Enterprise) where she first began teaching youth about financial literacy in the summer of 1998.

Ajshay is a highly sought-after speaker for various companies, schools and universities, agencies and community organizations. She is passionate about saving and believes that “plastic spoon or platinum spoon, we ALL have the capacity to be financially savvy.” Ajshay is not afraid to “go there” sharing personal accounts of money matters experienced in her life, pitfalls, triumphs and everything in between. These aren’t your mom’s pearls but they are just the perfect strand for you to live a money maven lifestyle. Ajshay is a real person who speaks on real topics, she is no stranger to a hard time and overcoming adversity, this coupled with her mind over matter approach makes her excellent speaker, the message speaks for itself.

Ajshay serves as an Executive board member and trustee for several national and local community organizations offering financial guidance and enjoys speaking to groups and spreading the financial literacy and personal motivation message.

A member of many professional associations and organizations including:  Greater Washington CPAs,  N.A.B.A. National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. and Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA); she is well –versed on financial matters and stays abreast of new developments in her field.

Ajshay has been featured on the Steve Harvey Mooning Show w/ Toni Richards, WHUR World, Inspired Life Radio, WHUR 96.3 News Break, Under 30 CEO and was recently nominated for a 30 Under 30 CEO award.

A graduate of Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in Washington, D.C., Ajshay received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Virginia. Ajshay was awarded her Masters of Business in Accounting from the University of Maryland. Ajshay values the education she has received both in and out of the classroom and feels it gives her a full and clear perspective of how individuals of varying socio-economic backgrounds, business and personal. perceive financial matters.

A native of Havre de Grace, MD, Ajshay currently resides in Virginia and enjoys spending time with her two Yorkies, Chase and Chloe.
